Raised in Las Vegas, D’ Angelo’s passion for mixology began escalating when, at the age of 21, he began working at Stack Restaurant & Bar in the Mirage Hotel and Casino. By 22, following a promotion, he became one of the youngest head bartenders to work at a Las Vegas Strip property. It was here where he began understanding “the business” of mixology, leading him to begin bolstering beverage programs at other Las Vegas venues.
His work would lead him to meet Michael Monrreal, his current mixology partner and one of his greatest mentors. Under Monrreal’s tutelage, D’ Angelo polished and finessed his skills, eventually leading him to Miami. There, D’ Angelo was brought on at the acclaimed Delano South Beach to help re-launch the resort’s food and and beverage program as Head Mixologist.
Following a successful relaunch in South Beach, D’ Angelo moved back to Las Vegas. Enter 50 Bleu. Getting it’s name from a Polish well containing 50-degree water, 50 Bleu is an Ultra Premium variety, distilled four times, and is so smooth and so pure that it’s virtually tasteless.
A veteran in mixology, Michael Monrreal cultivated his skills under legendary chef Michael Mina in San Jose, Calif. Along with Mina’a top mixologists, Monrreal studied the multitude of ways in which the food and beverage world’s collide to create distinctive epicurean experiences. With his extensive history of fine dining, Monrreal then moved to Las Vegas.
Monrreal has a passion for creating cocktails with “farm-to-table” ingredients. That fondness pairs well with his involvement in 50 Bleu, a vodka fashioned from a farm-grown Golden Rye exclusively in the Podlasie Region of Poland. Upon visiting the farm with D’ Angelo, the pair knew they were embarking on something more grandiose than they’d ever done.
As a mixologist, Monrreal is masterfully unrivaled. Now with 50 Bleu in his repertoire, there’s no telling where his skill set will top off.
